Econ Calendar – Page 24 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Fri Nov 30, 2018

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Friday’s pre-open Fed speaker is close enough to the open to be an influence. The post-open PMI tends to influence price action when released privately to its institutional subscribers, and that price reaction tends to extend or repeat when released publicly several minutes later.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Thu Nov 29, 2018

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: The calendar is unusually light for a Thursday, usually the week’s busiest for econ reports. And none has a reliable track record for influencing price action. Not until the afternoon’s FOMC Minutes, and more so with two Fed speakers scheduled simultaneously.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Wed Nov 28, 2018

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: None of Wednesday morning’s econ reports — including the 5 simultaneous pre-open reports, and the 3 simultaneous post-open reports — have a track record for influencing price action. But the simultaneous announcements does create potential for a surprise. An afternoon Fed speaker would still scheduled.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Tue Nov 27, 2018

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Tuesday’s calendar is busy with Fed speakers, from one pre-open to three as the afternoon bias environment begins lapsing. The pre-open econ reports aren’t reliably influential to price action, but any reaction would likely be duplicated by the post-open report.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Neither of Monday’s two Fed surveys has a track record for influencing price action. But any reaction to the pre-open report should be duplicated in reaction to the post-open report.
