Econ Calendar – Page 193 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Wed Sep 2 2015

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: This week is capped off by the monthly Employment Situation report, so the focus turns to jobs reports. Wednesday”s ADP is often influential to price action, while also offering a glimpse of market sentiment ahead of Friday. The afternoon”s Beige Book is reliably influential, too.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Tue Sep 1 2015

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Two reports are due simultaneously at 10:00 Tuesday. One is reliably influential to price action, which can enhance the other report”s effect in case of a surprise. The afternoon”s Fed speaker should influence price action, too.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Mon Aug 31 2015

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: All Fed surveys but one is reliably influential, but that”s becoming less so as the rate hike question looms. So, a reaction to Dallas Fed is possible. Its reaction is likely to be in-line with the Chicago PMI, which tends to set a tone. Also, it”s released privately to institutional subscribers and any market reaction is likely to be duplicated when released publicly.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Fri Aug 28 2015

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Friday”s post-open econ report probably won”t impact the thinking on when and whether the Fed hikes rates. But it does tend to influence price action anyway. The afternoon”s rig count will be interesting as energies may be forming bottoms.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Thu Aug 27 2015

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: While GDP is high-profile, it has no reliable track record for influencing price action. Jobless Claims doesn”t really, either, but I would be on guard for anything surprising in this environment that might make a rate hike more or less supported.
