Econ Calendar – Page 292 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Even if the government were fully operational, Monday still would not have any reports to contend with.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: The government shutdown is delaying Sep’s NFP. The data is compiled, and the situation isn’t entirely predictable, so expect the market to be inhibited into and out of the report’s normal announcement time.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: I haven’t found a definitive source for whether government agency reports will be released, and which ones. Jobless Claims is from Department of Labor, and the data is through Sep 28 — before the shutdown — so, it should be available for release. Same thing for Factory Orders, which is Department of Commerce for data through August.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Draghi will be on the tape sometime before Wednesday’s open, which always affects the market, usually down. ADP’s numbers will be impactful, especially if the DOL has announced it will delay the Employment Situation report. Bernanke’s speech could keep the afternoon lively.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Most of Tuesday’s econ reports don’t emanate from a government agency, so the market won’t be flying blind. Of course, if Construction Spending isn’t announced, then only ISM would need to be absorbed at 10:00. It’s still a high-profile influential report, but it wouldn’t be obscured.
