Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Monday’s are not so rare anymore for economic reports. Not even for pre-open reports. But multiple morning reports, let alone simultaneously released, give the week an unusual challenge that typically exacerbates volatility.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Friday morning’s drip of pre-open and post-open econ reports suggest a volatile morning. Last month’s Income and Outlays triggered a reaction, so at least price action ahead of it should be inhibited. Chicago PMI also triggered a reaction, especially when its report was released in advance privately to its institutional subscribers. Meanwhile, Tuesday’s Consumer Confidence surprised to the upside, so Friday’s Consumer Sentiment is less likely to surprise to the upside.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Three items released simultaneously before Thursday’s open include one that is both high-profile and often influential to price action, which is Jobless Claims. The GDP report is high-profile, but rarely influences price action, although its impact could be enhanced for sharing the spotlight.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Tuesday morning’s only pre-open item is relatively high-profile, as is its first post-open item — and both reflect consumer health, giving them potential to impact price action. Two Fed reports are also high-profile, but not historically influential to price action.
