A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: The week’s calendar hasn’t been empty, but it hasn’t been anything like Thursday’s. If the pre-open Claims doesn’t trigger a reaction, then at least that would be predictive of intraday price action. The PMI Flash definitely influenced price action previously. And two housing reports announce simultaneously after the open, increasing potential for deviating from Wednesday’s report.

Highlights: Wednesday’s post-open Home Sales report has lost its previous track record of influencing price action. But the afternoon’s FOMC Minutes is very reliable for inhibiting price action before it, and then inciting a reaction.
