Econ Calendar – Page 4 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Fri Apr 19, 2019

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Markets are closed for Good Friday, and coincidentally Passover begins at sundown. Volatility and liquidity could begin to evaporate Thursday afternoon ahead of the holidays. Meanwhile, two reports are scheduled, but there is no Globex session to react.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Thu Apr 18, 2019

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Philly Fed is the only Fed survey with a reliable track record for influencing price action. That might be masked Thursday as it is released among two other high-profile reports, one of them also being reliably influential. So, Thursday’s open should be greeted with volatility. And any noticeable reaction to the pre-open reports is likely to be duplicated in reaction to the post-open reports, of which two are also reliably influential to price action.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Tue Apr 16, 2019

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Tuesday’s calendar is staggered, but with reports that are neither high-profile nor reliably influential to price action. Nevertheless, any noticeable reaction to a pre-open report would likely be duplicated in reaction to the post-open report. The afternoon’s Fed speaker may hit the tape with comments that enhance volatility.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Mon Apr 15, 2019

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Monday’s sole econ report is high-profile, but only one Fed survey is reliably influential to price action and this isn’t it. A Fed speaker’s comments may begin hitting the tape soon afterward. Any reaction can be gauged to anticipate potential afternoon reactions to the same speaker.
