The highest profile econ report is Jobless Claims. But the natty gas market has been trying to carve out a bottom, and should be volatile on its report. Then the trickiest auction among treasuries is reported at 1:00pm, and the long-bond’s price has also been testing a very critical price area.

The afternoon’s Beige Book release is the most influential of all the day’s econ reports. A surprise in any other calendar item would still make an impact – like glut of supply according to EIA after Tuesday’s Crude Oil surge, or bad results from the auctions. But only Beige Book has been reliable in paralyzing price action before the report, and producing strong waves in response.

The Employment Situation report hasn’t had sole billing in awhile. No single high-profile report has had the day to itself in quite some time. My templates for this scenario mostly expect productive and substantial post-open trending, whether that means extending the opening tick’s direction or reversing it.

The day’s report flow is stead, but not very high-profile except for Jobless Claims. And that takes on an extra dimension ahead of the monthly Employment Situation report coming Friday.
