Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Two big foci for Tuesday is the consumer, and the QE exit. Last week’s Retail Sales further cemented the growing view of slowing consumption. Tuesday’s two private retail data and its CPI could either agree or disagree, and in either case trigger volatility. Housing Starts might even speak to this. Then several Fed officials speak in the afternoon. I might not highlight this — even with so many in such a concentrated window — except for last week’s FOMC Minutes affair. Many will be listening for signs of unwinding.
