Look ahead: Economic Calendar – If, Then… Market Timing

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: The second day of Bernanke’s Humphrey-Hawkins testimony finds him in the Senate. As of this writing I do not know whether his opening remarks will again be un-embargoed at 8:30am, or not until 10:00am as is usual. This is not irrelevant, since Ben usually uses the Senate testimony to rectify or fine-tune Wednesday’s (market reaction to his) testimony — which reintroduces volatility. His remarks are preceded by the pre-open Jobless Claims, and then announced simultaneously with two high-profile reports. Should be fun — perhaps that’s why nothing is scheduled for release Friday.
