Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Bernanke’s Wednesday evening speech might provide part of an interesting triangulation to Thursday’s two Fed members. The pre-open speaker is a hawk, and the post-open speaker is (probably) Bernanke’s replacement. The market will respond to any clues that as to how her leadership role might soften or sharpen her dovish stance. Meanwhile, the pre-open Jobless Claims is the first jobs market look since last week’s Employment Situation report. And the afternoon’s 30-year auction should keep the market on pins and needles.
