A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Holiday sales are underway, and Tuesday offers two or three looks at the consumer. Goldman’s store sales and Redbook aren’t often influential, but CPI usually is. Much, much more so this week, as its view of inflation is considered likely to inform the Fed’s policy decision to be announced Wednesday afternoon.
