Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Thursday’s calendar has some interesting and dangerous spots. Jobless Claims on the week following an Employment Situation surprise is often approached cautiously, which allows a bigger pent-up reaction. Retail Sales can be a surprise in that environment, and Retail Sales can be very influential to price action when it is a surprise. The 30-year auction also often makes the market take a deep breath, which is released upon getting the results.
