Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Another big day for reports and events aimed at the market. The pre-open PPI has an excellent track record of influencing price action. Often, the reaction to it tends to be repeated on the session’s subsequent reports. More bank earnings come pre-open, too. Yellen returns for day-two of her congressional testimony. The market reacted already to her more hawkish statements and attack on momentum stocks. A reliably hawkish Fed speaker follows her, and then Beige Book — the latter of which is likely to be considered in the context of Tuesday’s Retail Sales miss.
