A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: There are no pre-open reports Friday, for which the post-open calendar compensates by staggering two high-profile and influential items. Very high-profile, as each will weigh-in on the controversial inflation debate. Typically, the pre-open reaction to one report can anticipate the market’s mood for reacting to the day’s subsequent reports. I’ll be cautious about that rule on Friday, since confirming or contradicting either side’s argument will very likely enhance volatility.
