A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

UPDATED Highlights: Will August’s inflationary JOLTS report be confirmed Tuesday? It triggered a downdraft when reported last month. Apart from potential surprises in the two retail reports, Tuesday’s only other economically influential event is the post-open Fed speaker. That may compete against Apple’s iPhone 6 release.
