Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Tuesday’s econ calendar is relatively busy, but only two items are high-profile. One is Consumer Confidence, which is post-open, and generally disruptive to price action. But before then is the Case-Shiller Home Price Index. It is unusually timed for release 30 minutes pre-open. The 2-year auction at the noon hour’s end is the first since S&P’s downgrade, and could be influential if there’s any hitch. Meanwhile, quarterly earnings announcements are still coming in.
