A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Three interesting items on Tuesday’s calendar, each of a different type. The pre-open “Small Business Optimism” index could foreshadow jobs numbers, since most new hiring emanates there. The 3-year auction is far enough out the yield curve to be predictive of Thursday’s 30-year auction. And anxiousness ahead of the afternoon’s FOMC Minutes could paralyze price action while awaiting its data.
