Look ahead: Economic Calendar – If, Then… Market Timing

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Thursday’s calendar is a veritable minefield. Four items are released simultaneously at 8:30, three of which are high-profile with histories of influencing price action. And I have not seen these released together, so the market has no experience in absorbing them in unison. But, wait, there’s more… 9:15’s Industrial Production is still pre-open. And although 9:45’s Bloomberg index doesn’t tend to influence price action, it does keep alive the calendar’s rope-a-dope — right into 10:00’s influential Philly Fed Survey.
