A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: The pre-open PCI report has no history of influencing the market, except in the case of a surprise. Meanwhile, while Bernanke does speak at the open, the timing makes it unlikely that his remarks will be constructed to send any message. Perhaps some sort of a relief rally will follow, no matter how limited.
