A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Positive expectations may not be discounted for Tuesday’s pre-open Housing Starts, despite the positive surprise in Monday’s Market Index —  a second consecutive surprise in the sector could have a much better effect. Meanwhile, retail sales metrics have not lived up to Thanksgiving weekend’s blowout, which helps to discount negative news there.
