A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Tuesday’s calendar is as interesting as it is busy. The morning’s retail metrics provide one more look at Christmas sales. Case-Shiller comes after last week’s weird housing sector data. Among the post-open items, 10:00’s Consumer Confidence tends to influence price action whether inhibiting trending before it or exaggerating the reaction afterward.
