The Universe, week of January 12 2015

NOTE THIS WEEK”S SPECIAL SECTION FOLLOWING THE NARRATIVE… Perhaps a casual observer of this sector might be surprised to learn that last week”s price action was net bullish. Or that the number of 4-week rolling uptrends continued improving from the prior week — having returned to 9 last week from 6, this week”s uptrends improved as much to total 12.
The sector stopped declining, but has it stopped declining? In other words, while the relentless selling has obviously ended along with tax loss pressures, we don”t yet know whether bounces will attract another round of selling. We still can”t generally describe the price action as “accumulative.”
Broken record time: 1) Don”t forget the simplest definition of a downtrend, which is an ongoing series of lower lows and lower highs. The Universe still qualifies overwhelmingly as being in a downtrend. 2) Also don”t forget that rising price can be as much due to less selling pressure as to more buying pressure. Many of this sector”s recent bounces have only floated back to the surface, but have yet to lift off.
On those two notes, following are my observations of Marijuana stocks that are greeting the New Year especially well, or poorly. It takes more than just a bounce to make the positive list. No consideration is made for any investment value.s:
AMMJ, ARNA, AVTC, CANL, CARA, CBIS, EAPH, INSY, LXRP, MiNE, SRNA, VHUB.
Several were notably suspicious, although rallying higher without further delay could solve their initial impressions: AGTK, CBDS, CTCO. If you think a stock isn”t included that should be, or vice-versa, or just want to know more about the process, then
