Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Tue Dec 9, 2014
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Tuesday”s two pre-open retail figures could only surprise to the upside since Black Friday and Cyber Monday data was already reported to be weak. The post-open JOLTS could only surprise to the downside since Friday”s Employment Situation report was strong. In fact, it was so strong that JOLTS is more capable of undermining it.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Fri Dec 5 2014
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Here it comes, the monthly Employment Siutuation report. It”s often presented solo, which is essentially the case since the other pre-open report has no track record of influencing price action. But a Fed speaker also will be on the tape, and a post-open report will follow.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Thu Dec 4, 2014
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Thursday”s ECB interest rate policy statement will be followed by Mario Draghi”s press conference. That is always reliable for a price reaction, if not four or five. The morning stays busy with Jobless Claims and a Fed speaker. Interestingly, the Fed speaker (Mester) reappears Friday after the morning”s Employment Situation report — her comments will be anticipated, and Thursday”s reaction will be informative.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Wed Dec 3, 2014
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Busy day for the econ calendar Wednesday. Reaction to the pre-open ADP report offers insight into how the market might behave Friday. The post-open PMI And ISM numbers should also trigger reactions before price action starts becoming subdued ahead of the afternoon”s Beige Book release. Two Fed speakers should keep things jumpy, although Tuesday morning”s Fed comments had little effect.
