Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Tue Dec 17, 2014
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: I”m not sure what time the BOE will release minutes from last month”s policy meeting. Wednesday”s pre-open CPI has a track record of influencing price action. But price action often becomes paralyzed by anxiousness ahead of the afternoon”s FOMC news and especially Janet Yellen”s press conference. That”s not always the case, and that”s where the opportunities are.

Highlights: Is retail sales still a thing? Holiday season shopping can only be more bad news, or else a positive surprise. Two pre-open reports will tell, interrupted by a Housing sector report which can be influential. The post-open PMI report has a limited track record of ifluencing price action.

Highlights: Three econ reports on Monday make each one more influential for its timing. The week doesn”t often begin with such an inundation of economic data. But none has a track record of influencing price action otherwise.
