Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Tue Nov 25, 2014
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: A lot is being crammed into the holiday-shortened week. Of two items due before Tuesday”s open, one is very high-profile and influential to price action. The market”s reaction to it tends to inform the reaction to Tuesday”s subsequent reports. There will be plenty of opportunity to put that to the test. Two housing sector reports will be released simultaneously during out Market Tour call. And then three more reports are released simultaneously after the open — one of which is also high-profile and influential to price action.

Neither of Monday”s two Fed reports has a track record of influencing price action. The post-open PMI could be influential if it”s a surprise, but otherwise probably won”t inhibit price action before it.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Thu Nov 13 2014
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights:
Two high-profile influential items at 8:30. Two more items at 9:45, one of which is influential. And three high-profile influential items at 10:00. Thursday morning is a minefield. Keep in mind on days like this that an exaggerated reaction to one of the first reports is often duplicated by reactions to the day”s subsequent reports.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights:
Wednesday morning”s reports have little track record for influencing price action. But the afternoon FOMC Minutes is very reliable for creating at least a reaction — the more inhibited price action seems to be before releasing the Minutes, the more substantial the reaction should be.
