Econ Calendar – Page 240 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar – for Tue Oct 7, 2014

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights:

Will Tuesday”s JOLTS re-interpret the original reaction to September”s Employment Situation report? Two months ago it had an impact on price action. But not last month. And last week”s NFP data confirmed the earlier indications. So, perhaps only a contraction in JOLTS can influence price action at all.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: The monthly Employment Situation report doesn”t often share the stage with other econ reports. This Friday has PMI and ISM, the latter being reliable for triggering a price reaction. Participation is already thin on Friday afternoons, but it only gets thinner this week as many traders leave early for observance of the Yom Kippur holiday.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: This week”s focus on September”s NFP is interrupted early Thursday by BOE and ECB policy statements, the first since last month”s ECB rate drop. Then three pre-open reports give last glimpses of the labor market ahead of Friday”s monthly jobs report. But none of them have track records recently for influencing price action.
