Econ Calendar – Page 249 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Tuesday’s calendar is relatively busy, with at least one report (ISM) having a track record of influencing price action. The calendar slows considerably for the balance of the week, at least in influential reports.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: The monthly Employment Situation report is reliably influential to prices. It is usually released with one or no other reports, but Friday’s is followed by high-profile and influential reports, mostly the post-open Consumer Sentiment and ISM data.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Jobless Claims used to be very reliable for influencing price action, but hasn’t been for awhile. The post-open PMI is influential, and any reaction on its pre-release to institutional subscribers tends to persist through the public release.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: The week of the monthly Employment Situation report attracts private sector reports. Wednesday’s ADP is the highest-profile among them, because tends to be helpful in fine-tuning expectation. I find the market’s reaction helpful to start understanding sentiment ahead of Friday. That become irrelevant as markets become focused on the FOMC rate policy announcement.
