Highlights: The mother of all econ report is the monthly Employment Situation report, which is released on the first Friday of each month. FOMC’s release has been rivaling an influence on price action, which is interesting this week since that influence was only a couple of knee-jerk reactions. Friday’s post-open report isn’t high-profile.

Highlights: Jobless Claims has been impacting price action less recently than its track record would suggest. But the week of Employment Situation report has the best chance. That may not be transparent Thursday, as Fed Chair Yellen speaks at the same time. She’ll be less surprising than two influential reports — PMI and ISM — that are staggered post-open.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Wednesday’s ADP report can be a precursor to Friday’s big monthly jobs report, and often gets a reaction. GDP is high-profile, but not very influential to prices. Not like the post-open Chicago PMI, which is often seen affecting price action when its institutional subscribers get early access. But the afternoon’s FOMC Minutes are becoming more reliable in having the month’s greatest impact on price action.
