Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: The week begins with a Fed survey, which has no track record of influencing price action. The PMI data does. Following last week’s string of Fed speakers, Monday morning’s probably won’t move markets but I wanted to point out his appearance.

Highlights: Expiration is often undiluted by any econ reports. The Atlanta Fed data has no track record of influencing price action. But it’s beyond interesting for any session to have four Fed speakers, let alone on a vulnerable Friday afternoon, especially expiration.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Thursday’s claims data will be interesting since last week’s numbers were not official. Then three high-profile econ reports are announced simultaneously after the open. I’m noting the Fed speaker due to this week’s FOMC meeting.

Highlights: The only surprise from Wednesday’s MBA apps would be an uptick. That, and Tuesday’s housing sector data will have set the stage for a reaction to Housing Starts. The balance of the session should be range bound ahead of the afternoon’s FOMC announcement and Bernanke’s press conference. Is it taper, yet?

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Several looks at the consumer are staggered throughout the open. The retail data rarely surprises, if ever. But the CPI often inhibits price action before its release, and then triggers a reaction. The reaction to the post-open Housing Market data should exacerbate any earlier trending.
