Highlights: AMZN’s earnings after Thursday’s close might inhibit the afternoon’s price action, but otherwise have no effect on Friday’s market. The post-open Consumer Sentiment report does have a track record of triggering a price reaction.

Highlights: Wednesday’s market probably won’t be influenced much by AAPL’s earnings that are announced after the prior close. But Tuesday afternoon’s price action may be inhibited ahead of the report. Wednesday’s pre-open MBA apps have been declining, so only an upside surprise seems possible.

Highlights: Last week’s big Retail Sales miss may be validated or invalidated by Tuesday’s two weekly retail metrics. They don’t otherwise have much track record for influencing price action. One more pre-open report also offers a glimpse of consumer strength, albeit via a more “durable” good.
