Econ Calendar – Page 315 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Monday’s pre-open report is a reflection of consumer health, which has not been good recently. A positive surprise could impact price action, but probably not bad news. The post-open Home Sales index has similar consequences for similar reasons. But the regional fed survey is only interesting, and now influential.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Friday’s GDP is certainly high-profile. But it has very little track record of influencing price action. The post-open Consumer Sentiment tends both to inhibit price action, and then also to create a reaction.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Eurogroup’s Dijsselbloem will speak to the European Parliament’s economic and monetary affairs committee, and presumably will try to walk-back his recent comments that Cyprus would become a template for other bailouts. Jobless Claims is also released pre-open.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Wednesday’s pre-open Durable Goods number is influential. It is also the day’s only relevant report, making it much higher-profile.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Monday’s market reacted negatively to the morning’s post-open housing sector report. Tuesday has two, both pre-open and post-open. That follows two retail metrics, with recent reports cementing the perception of a weak consumer.
