Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Monday’s calendar seems busy, but that’s only because it is a Monday. Its housing sector report is high-profile, but it should be discounted already after the prior week’s several other reports from the sector. Fed surveys are interesting to economists, but have no track record of influencing price action. –UPDATE– Durable Goods is scheduled unusually for a Monday morning. It’s a high-profile report, and any surprise could set the tone for the day, or possibly set an extreme.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Reactions to the week’s earlier housing sector reports have set the stage for Friday’s New Home Sales report. It is the morning’s only item, and its post-open tends either to extend or to reverse any initial trending.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Jobless Claims is one of Thursday’s three influential reports. The most interesting may be the unusually-timed PMI flash report. But the Jobless Claims reaction should be repeated after the post-open LEI. The KC Fed Index has on track record of influencing price action.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Any meaningful reaction to Tuesday’s post-open housing sector report would make Wednesday morning’s pre-open FHFA item doubly influential. It’s not the most relevant of reports, but it is the day’s most relevant.
