Econ Calendar – Page 375 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: For the second consecutive Monday, the week begins with econ reports. These two are high-profile, and at least ISM has a track record of influencing price action. Their post-open timing tends to increase their ability either to accelerate or reverse any initial trending.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: With no reports scheduled Friday, at least the morning’s price action may offer some insights into how much recent trending relies on data. But that doesn’t make the afternoon’s price action any less vulnerable to volatility before the weekend.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Thursday’s calendar may be more influential than Wednesday’s, but the timing of its reports is more concentrated. Last week’s Jobless Claims triggered a dive to the week’s lows on a revision. The post-open ISM number is more high-profile than Construction Spending that is released simultaneously.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Wednesday’s calendar is active throughout the day. Interestingly, though, not so much pre-open — the two pre-open items do not tend to influence price action. But the Chicago PMI is followed by Bernanke’s testimony, and the afternoon keeps things alive with the Beige Book.

Highlights: Durable Goods doesn’t often influence price action, but it did last month — negatively. Another pre-open item is HPI, somewhat influential. Then three simultaneous items come at 10:00, one of which is high-profile.
