Highlights: The pre-open Jobless Claims report tends to influence price action. The House Price Index is relatively old data (covering July), so only a shocking surprise could get a reaction, and then probably only temporarily. It is released simultaneously with LEI, which does have a history of influencing price action — both into and out of the report.

Highlights: Wednesday’s post-open Existing Home Sales covers August’s results. Two items this week preceded it that gave more recent snapshots of Homebuilding, so this report is less likely to surprise than it is to confirm… After that reaction has died down, setups will be somewhat less reliable too far ahead of the afternoon’s FOMC Meeting Announcement (Bernanke’s quarterly conference is scheduled next for November).
