Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: No pre-open report will set Friday’s mood, or offer clues to what reaction the post-open reports might trigger. That wildcard is compounded by the post-open reports being staggered.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: The pre-open report commonly influences price action. On Thursday it will also influence reactions to the post-open reports. And there are three unusually-timed post-open reports – a factor that is already disruptive. Often, trending in place through the open will persist through the day.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: The post-open Pending Home Sales Index data has a 2-month lag, so its estimates tend to be accurate or not surprising. The 7-year auction at the noon hour’s end can be more of a disruption.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: A lot of short-term paper will be auctioned Tuesday afternoon. First, there is the morning’s heavy calendar. Having a 2-month lag, the HPI is essentially old news, so any knee-jerk reaction is likely to be brief. A reaction is likely since its 9:00am timing is unusual. Then a trio of 10:00am items will inhibit price action prior to their release, and probably disrupt initial trending in their wake.
