Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Consumer Sentiment can be fun, or meaningless. The report’s time is unusual, so it doesn’t inhibit price action ahead of it like other reports do. This makes a surprise more disruptive. But it can be a very big non-event if the number is in-line.

Highlights: It looks like a busy day, but it’s not. Both pre-open items are high-profile, but only Jobless Claims tends to influence price action. New Home Sales is high-profile and post-open, easily capable of disrupting any initial trending.

Highlights: A steady stream of econ reports will keep Wednesday morning lively. But only 10:00’s report is high-profile and reliably disruptive. Other data can make an impact if they surprise.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: The holiday-shortened week starts with at least one curve ball. Case-Shiller’s announcement time is unusual for econ reports. Its data lags two months, which opens interesting possibilities. Weak data would undermine the recovery meme on which the recent rally is based. Strong data could trigger a weak-handed, knee-jerk retracement of Monday’s plunge. Econ reports may be among the market’s least concerns, and 10:00’s Consumer Confidence won’t reflect current reality, either.
