Highlights:  It’s not a policy speech, and it’s overseas.. but it’s a Bernanke speech, while the market’s open. And it’s the only economic event of the day. Otherwise, things are slow, and could slow down further into the afternoon as traders leave ahead of the three-day holiday weekend.

Two high-profile reports are being released simultaneously pre-open, and two high-profile reports are being released simultaneously post-open. Also due at the same time as the post-open reports, is Bernanke’s prepared text before his Senate testimony.
