Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: No economic reports or events are scheduled for Friday. No news is always good news. If not for the longs, then for the shorts ;)
Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Thursday’s calendar isn’t so much a minefield as it is a shooting gallery. And weekly Jobless Claims might be the least of it. If Bernanke’s testimony Wednesday made any waves, then the market will probably discount the possibility of it repeating Thursday (hint: it rarely does). The big salvo comes with 10:00’s troika of simultaneous, high-profile, post-open reports. Two of which are housing relating, so consider the week’s earlier reactions to Housing Starts (Tue) and MBA Purchase Apps (Wed).

Highlights: Don’t forget that last week’s MBA Purchase Apps surprised the market. Surely the market remembers, and the anxiousness might inhibit price action. Then Bernanke’s pending testimony will become the focus.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Monday reports are less rare, but still tend to surprise when they come out post-open. Perhaps more interesting is that the HMI precedes another Housing indicator Tuesday, and then two more later in the week. So a surprise or not would set the tone for how the subsequent reports are anticipated.
