Econ Calendar
Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: I don’t normally highlight speeches by Federal Reserve board members. But there’s a lot Thursday. And it continues into the night with Bernanke and Hoenig speaking. Quite an interesting and risky playing field to bring the 30-year.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Perhaps the most interesting item Wednesday will happen overnight, when Fed Governor Hoenig speaks at 9:45. Otherwise, it will be treated as a no-news day.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Two glimpses of the consumer will complete the shift from last week’s bigger focus on industrial (manufacturing and factories) to the retail. The intersection between the two at last Friday’s Employment report did slow the decline. It will be interesting whether the interim bounce has discounted the wrong news again, or correctly anticipates an improvement.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Mondays don’t often include economic reports. Timing its release after the open might help to absorb it, unlike other days of the week when a post-open report can stir things up.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: The big news of the day is September’s Employment Situation report. The volatility that it consistently produces tends to play out largely before the open. Perhaps not so much this time, since it has follow-up news after the open.
