The Universe, week of Nov 2 2015… – If, Then… Market Timing

The Universe, week of Nov 2 2015…

[Note: I publish “The Universe” every weekend, updating my support and resistance calculations for Marijuana sector stocks. It is not a projection, but a handy reference… Non-Marijuana stocks are covered elsewhere during the week.]

Let’s revisit the Canadian stocks mentioned previously (OGRMF, SPRWF, TWMJF). They had formed 3-day surges, which tends to mark significant near-term momentum peaks. In fact, their price action reacted down considerably from there.

Another trait of the 3-day surge is that recovering its peak is very bullish. The assumption is that the impatient buyers who created the froth have been corrected. These stocks ended the week probing their surge peaks.

Probing, or retesting? Overlapping. Extending higher through Monday’s close would confirm the breaks higher underway, and new uplegs developing. Otherwise, the surge highs will more likely hold their retest. Reversing down isn’t mandatory, but at least a delay to rallying would be.

Among the sector, only one other new issue is timely, PMCB, which has formed a massive inverted Head & Shoulders pattern. We’ll review the chart during Livestox.

Thanks Rod. With BTC plowing forward, are there any new parameters. Now up around 335 on increasing volume.

    • Rod David on November 2, 2015 - 11:05 am at 11:05 am

Bitcoin — Room for noise up to 335. Closing above that would be interesting, but it’s otherwise big resistance.

      • Rod David on November 3, 2015 - 7:56 am at 7:56 am

The flag that developed between 323-335 broke higher aggressively, now attacking year-old hgh closes around 388. Breaking higher would establish a new floor, back down to that flag.

Hi rod, I know you don’t chart APH, CGC, OGI,MT,EMH,(Canadian Green sector) But some are looking for the second consecutive closes, challenging highs, others breaking through resistance on their way to look @ the high’s and some have not done anything. Would it be time to profit take on the leaders or just the beginning of an extending rally? TY

    • Rod David on November 2, 2015 - 11:27 am at 11:27 am

I would apply the same comments as in today’s Universe regarding TWMJF, SPRWF, OGRMF. Closing above last week’s 3rd-day surge highs would be very bullish, but otherwise holding their retest can pause the rally indefinitely.

      • fennecby on November 3, 2015 - 8:01 am at 8:01 am

“Extending higher through Monday’s close would confirm the breaks higher underway, and new uplegs developing”.
So, with TWMJF and OGRMF having closed higher and confirmed their breaks, what are the new uplegs going to look like in terms of targets and time frames?

        • Rod David on November 3, 2015 - 10:50 am at 10:50 am

          TWMJF — next targeting 2.56 and 3.10
OGRMF — now testing its next higher target at .77 with potential to .98

          • fennecby on November 3, 2015 - 4:32 pm at 4:32 pm

            thank you.

          • fennecby on November 4, 2015 - 4:26 pm at 4:26 pm

sold my OGRMF up to 0.98.
where do I buy it back?

          • Rod David on November 4, 2015 - 5:11 pm at 5:11 pm

OGRMF — Either on a close above today’s high, or else after a pullback and consolidation have formed. Looking like another 3rd-day surge setup.

          • fennecby on November 5, 2015 - 9:09 am at 9:09 am

            Roger that.
TWMJF is a bit different? 4th day surge now and a bit more “controlled,” shall we say?

          • Rod David on November 5, 2015 - 12:40 pm at 12:40 pm

3rd-day surge is a guideline to beware of a sentiment extreme. Extending through the following morning doesn’t change the spirit of it.

  3. guanito on November 4, 2015 - 1:02 pm at 1:02 pm

Hi Rod, Long GDSI from lower. Looking for a target – if i haven’t missed it already. Tks.

    • Rod David on November 4, 2015 - 1:07 pm at 1:07 pm

GDSI — I can’t really speak to a target in this pattern, which was an extended narrow range that suddenly broke higher. But there is big resistance being tested now at .0075. Its recovery on expanding volume would suggest another upleg underway to fresh highs.

  4. Josey on November 5, 2015 - 11:05 am at 11:05 am

Look’s like Canada may have peaked for now?? Looking for OGRMF to buy back .65 – .70??? and TWMJF 2.10??

    • Rod David on November 5, 2015 - 12:41 pm at 12:41 pm

Another 3rd-day surge, so another opportunity to peak near-term. Pullback limits or objectives aren’t calculable until knowing today’s closing prices.

  5. Josey on November 5, 2015 - 11:52 am at 11:52 am

Hi Rod, Is GILD targeting 103 or 100?? as support? TY

    • Rod David on November 5, 2015 - 12:43 pm at 12:43 pm

      GILD — 100-102 is likely
