The Universe, week of Oct 12 2015… – If, Then… Market Timing

The Universe, week of Oct 12 2015…

[Note: I publish “The Universe” every weekend, updating my support and resistance calculations for Marijuana sector stocks. It is not a projection, but a handy reference… Non-Marijuana stocks are covered elsewhere during the week.]

My morning note Friday on VAPE cleared the email approval hurdle after several minutes, which was enough time to surge through resistance. Having been chipped away, the potential for extending through resistance is greater. Regardless, this is only for a corrective bounce and not for a durable recovery.

Not, yet.

There are a lot of VAPEs starting to form — not necessarily the same profile or liquidity, but ongoing declines showing signs that at least a corrective rally will soon develop. Note that this does NOT include stocks which continue printing lower and lower lows (I’m talking to you, MCIG).

Hi Rod, Have a short on crude and was wondering if this is a false break and now headed in the other direction (fresh new low?). What would be the magic close # that would give a sell signal as I would like to add to the short position or not? (47.70?, 46.70, ??)

    • Rod David on October 12, 2015 - 1:55 pm at 1:55 pm

Closing back under 46 would start to suggest the consolidation is ending and resolving down

    Sorry can’t edit.
Or 43.70 for the fresh lows?

    Just thinking,
is it OK to ask these questions on this side of the fence?

    • Rod David on October 12, 2015 - 1:51 pm at 1:51 pm

That sounds like it’s associated with the Daily Spot or chaRTroom products.

    Hey Rod.
How do you feel about SILC? It’s an LT hold for me, but looking strong at the moment and may be of interest to someone here (but beware of earnings coming soon, which *always* [last 10 quarters or so] takes it 20-30% up or down).

    • Rod David on October 13, 2015 - 7:39 am at 7:39 am

SILC — Very impressive volume patterns accompanying the breakout from a base. Reversing the trend back down would require an amazing surprise. Meanwhile, a pullback has room down to 28.15-28.90 without threatening the breakout’s momentum. The nearside upside attraction is in the 36 area.

      • fennecby on October 13, 2015 - 9:49 am at 9:49 am

Thanks. Never underestimate the power of SILC surprises though – just look at the chart a couple quarters back.
Is there a difference between the current action there and the action that greeted earnings back in April?

    Hi Rod.
Is this a propitious entry point for RKUS?
    Tks.

    • Rod David on October 13, 2015 - 3:19 pm at 3:19 pm

RKUS — This area is a deep enough pullbck for the rally to resume refreshed. But there is still room down to 11.95 before the propitiousness begins diminishing.
