Toe-hold, or toe caught?

Prior high”s retest is pushing back.

Thursday and Friday”s upside attraction at 2112.75 was never touched. Not until this morning, during fresh highs after the bias environment began lapsing at 11:30.

Probing back into the rang at noon undermined that breakout”s momentum. And the noon hour”s first half has slid to 2107.00.

The reaction could extend down another 2-3 ticks, and still be only noise within the noon hour”s noisy range. Back above 2110.25 would start to signal the drop had ended. Recovering 2113.50 through 1:20 would trigger bias-up.

Generally, resuming this morning”s recovery would need to avoid triggering bias-down. Preferably, bias-up would trigger, or at least be recovered coming out of a no-bias environment.

guanito — Question – STEV – when you say not to own below .07 – is that on a closing basis? does it mean .07 as a stop loss, – .07 given, or offered, or on the close? Thanks. Posted 3 days ago — “Edited”

guanito — Rod – never mind about that question. It”s a personal choice I realize. Posted 3 days ago
Rod David — STEV — The recent rally reached a point that reflects an effort being made, not just noise. So, pulling back would indicate an opposing effort. And pulling back too deeply, i.e. not holding a test of 7, closing under it for two sessions, and accompanied by expanding volume, would signal that the opposing effort was winning out. guanito — Thanks. Too trigger happy sometimes – not patient enough. Posted 3 days ago
fennecby — Morning. BCLI was a “broken chart” last time you reviewed it. How about now? Posted 3 days ago
tamaramessmann — RHHBY- What would like to establish a long position. What would be a good entry point? Posted 3 days ago
Rod-David — BCLI — The narrow range has launched a probe above it, with volume expanding. It must still recover to close above 4.55 to prove it”s probably not just another tier of noise around the narrow range. That would target 6.15 or 6.80 Posted 3 days ago
Rod-David — RHHBY — ADRs aren”t entirely reliable for portraying price action, since their charts tend to have a lot of gaps due only to differences from their home exchanges. Having said that, there may be an inverted Head & Shoulders pattern forming, and closing above 34.35 on expanding volume would 36.20 Posted 3 days ago
fennecby — thanks. Posted 2 days ago
Brett-ster — SALT – above 2.50 now. Where do you see resistance? Any particular pattern? Posted 2 days ago
Rod-David — SALT — Sort of an inverted Head & Shoulders coming off of the low, with resistance up to 2.70-2.90 before triggering targets as high as 4.50. Meanwhile, pullbacks must hold 2.10 to avoid reversing momentum back down Posted 2 days ago
tamaramessmann — ENDO next lower support please? Posted 58 minutes ago
tamaramessmann — MCIG next lower support please? Posted 55 minutes ago

Rod-David — ENDO — .0060-.0085 Posted 27 minutes ago
Rod-David — MCIG — .087 if this ranging around .132 does ultimately break lower Posted 25 minutes ago

Afternoon bias

MON afternoon signal (triggered at 1:20 ET) SPX ES
Bias-up: above 2115.50 2113.50
…would target 2122.00 2120.25
Bias-down: under 2106.00 2104.25
…would target 2101.75 2099.75
Signal status: NO-BIAS FAQ
INTRO VIDEOS #1 and #2

1. At 1:20, trading above the bias-up signal or under the bias-down signal would put into play a test of its bias-up or bias-down target.
2. Not triggering either bias signal at 1:20 would be “no-bias,” and the bias signals should define the bias environment”s range.
— A test of the opposite bias signal would be targeted if one bias signal was tested before triggering no-bias.
3. Touching the bias signal within 3 minutes either way of 1:20 would invoke a grace period through 1:30 to trigger a late signal.
— “Late” signals don”t require testing the opposite bias signal, but it”s still likely.
4. Still testing the bias signal at 1:30 after invoking the grace period would trigger “noN-bias,” with no bias influence.

Post-open review

Buyers still good to the last drop.

The pre-open drop ultimately extended to pierce Friday”s 2100.75 low by 1 tick. The 2101.50 bias-down signal was already being recovered into the opening, which quickly extended to touch the 2104.25 preliminary level.

2104.25”s reaction down was deep enough to identify a shallower buy signal, which extended to 2111.75.

The 2111.00 bias-up signal was overlapped within 3 minutes of the 10:15 bias timing window to invoke the 15-minute grace period through 10:30. A blip-up at 10:30 triggered “late bias-up.”

Had 2111.00 still been overlapped at 10:30, this morning would be “noN-bias” without any bias requirement. A reaction down under 2111.00 at 10:31 was 1 minute too late. This is still a late bias-up. Not being triggered timely, its target won”t become “unfinished business above” if left outstanding this morning.

Presumably, the topping scenario remains on-track for revising last week”s high, and higher, before launching a new downleg. Regardless, no sell signal is calculable without a new distributive pattern forming.

Monday”s pre-open Market Tour witnessed

Monday”s pre-open Market Tour witnessed the price slide extending down to pierce Friday”s late low. That didn”t change anything discussed already in the First Trade blog post, but we did get the opportunity to graphically depict preliminary levels that might be predictive for the morning”s ultimate direction.
