Econ Calendar – Page 423 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: I don’t normally acknowledge a Fed Governor’s speech, but Plosser’s remarks may draw special attention. Last week he described a path higher for Fed Funds, which he’s sure to revisit in remarks or Q&A. That will be very interesting with March’s Employment Situation report coming just behind, and then the high-profile ISM report coming post-open.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: From multiple pre-open jobs data, to post-open high-profile items, staggered reports throughout the open will keep volatility high. By mid-morning, the market’s likely reaction to Friday’s big report should become clear.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: This week is big on employment data, piggy-backing off of Friday’s monthly report. Wednesday’s two private sector releases will start to shape Friday’s reaction. Subtle clues may also come from the 7-year’s auction influence.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: This week’s heavy calendar continues Tuesday, with the President’s address to the nation Monday night. Despite having no market relevance, price action may be inhibited before it and then released afterward.

As for Tuesday proper, the morning’s Housing Price Index has a two-month lag, so it might seem more optimistic than last week’s more recent housing metrics that were bearish. This might allow an opportunity to fade its knee-jerk reaction. The post-open items are influential, too.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Pre-open items are rare for Mondays, and they’re rarely influential. There is no time for it to inhibit price action, and it shouldn’t have much impact without a surprise. However, the post-open item is very high-profile, and its timing all but assures it to influence price action.
