A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Tuesday’s PPI has a reliable track record of influencing price action. But it’s pre-open, so its effect will only set the open’s tone, but not necessarily dictate it.

Highlights: After a week without high-profile econ reports — one that followed an especially busy week — Friday’s calendar offers two opportunities to influence price action. The pre-open Retail Sales won’t get a reaction if it’s not surprising. But the off-hour timing and high-profile of the post-open Consumer Sentiment is reliable for triggering a reaction.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar
A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: The president is scheduled to address the nation regarding his plans to confront ISIS. Don’t forget the rally’s current upleg began after his prior nighttime address on the same topic that pushed the last downleg to fresh lows… Jobless Claims used to be reliable for triggering a market reaction, but it has become almost reliable for the opposite. The 30-year auction is likely to inhibit price action before its results, but later influence will be limited to a poor showing.

Highlights: None of Wednesday’s econ reports have a track record of influencing price action. The 10-year auction might inhibit price action before its results. But it will only have an impact in case it gives reason to be concerned with how Thursday’s 30-year auction is placed.
