The pre-open Retail Sales won’t get a reaction if it’s not surprising. But the off-hour timing and high-profile of the post-open Consumer Sentiment is reliable for triggering a reaction.

Don’t forget the rally’s current upleg began after his prior nighttime address on the same topic that pushed the last downleg to fresh lows… Jobless Claims used to be reliable for triggering a market reaction, but it has become almost reliable for the opposite. The 30-year auction is likely to inhibit price action before its results, but later influence will be limited to a poor showing.
