Econ Calendar – Page 286 – If, Then… Market Timing

Econ Calendar

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Monday’s econ reports don’t tend to influence price action. But the afternoon Fed member’s speech should keep things lively — especially if the market reacts bearishly, since another hawkish Fec member will be speaking overnight.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: None of Friday’s econ reports have a great track record of influencing price action. But this week has been starving for influential data, which could produce exaggerated reactions to even the slightest surprise or counter-narrative.

Look ahead: Economic Calendar

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Bernanke’s Wednesday evening speech might provide part of an interesting triangulation to Thursday’s two Fed members. The pre-open speaker is a hawk, and the post-open speaker is (probably) Bernanke’s replacement. The market will respond to any clues that as to how her leadership role might soften or sharpen her dovish stance. Meanwhile, the pre-open Jobless Claims is the first jobs market look since last week’s Employment Situation report. And the afternoon’s 30-year auction should keep the market on pins and needles.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Wednesday’s two econ reports have no track record of influencing price action. The afternoon’s 10-year auction is starting to get far enough out on the yield curve to keep the market on edge.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.

Highlights: Tuesday morning’s econ reports don’t have a track record of influencing price action. But the afternoon’s two Fed members could deliver a rope-a-dope to the market.
