Highlights: Look for a lot business channel focus on the 25th anniversary of 1987’s “Black Monday” stock market crash. I’ve not found much correlation to anniversary dates, except for entertainment value. The post-open Home Sales data will be more relevant to price action.

Highlights: Thursday’s Jobless Claims isn’t often released without some other report, so it should have an unusual impact on price action. The two post-open items released in tandem at 10:00 are individually influential, which should be only more so when released in tandem.

A midday look ahead in preparation for economic reports and events scheduled for the next trading day.
Highlights: Tuesday’s calendar is a steady flow of high-profile reports. CPI is becoming increasingly influential as QE’s effects are increasingly inescapable. Industrial Production has a spotty track record of influencing price action, and the Housing Market Index often inhibits price action more than it influences a reaction.
